The Epoch Times』 Daniel Teng says it is not surprising Australian intelligence officials have warned Beijing controls Chinese-language media in Australia and their report establishes public awareness of the extensiveness of foreign interference.
It comes amid reports Chinese-language media in Australia is believed by intelligence officials to have connections to Beijing, providing opportunity for propaganda to be spread.
「There』s been a lot of investigations on this area in the last few years, but it』s been really hard to pin down specific smoking guns,” Mr Teng told Sky News host Paul Murray.
「I think this report really does give us a leverage or a foundation for future action.」
